Students’ Guild campaigns have a real impact. We campaign because we want to make a difference. Campaigning is also a great way to express your opinion and make changes. It's also a great way to meet people who believe in the same things as you.
A good example of this is when the University wanted to make changes to this year's term dates, we ran a referendum to see what students thought. 1,525 students voted - the highest turnout for a referendum in the country. This led to the University backtracking on the changes and reaching a compromise with the Guild.
Other campaigns have included drinking awareness, mental health and wellbeing, student debt and NO2ID, among others.
You decide what we campaign on. At the start of each academic year we have a Campaigns Referendum, in which you can suggest ideas for campaigns and then vote on which ones you want to see happen during the year.
